A specialist Mental Health Service delivered by Ballarat Health Services across hospital and community settings.

Ballarat Health Services (BHS) Mental Health Service offers specialised and person-centred care for people in the BHS catchment area with mental health needs. The service operates across inpatient and community settings. The Mental Health Service team works in partnership with individuals and their families to assist an individual in their journey to recovery and towards a meaningful life within the community.

Individuals seeking mental health support can access the following services through BHS Mental Health Service:

  • Access to the Grampians Area Mental Health Service, Access and Triage Team (phone 1300 247 647).
  • Outreach services in Horsham and Ararat
  • Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC) for mental health clients needing further assistance from inpatient admission
  • Ballarat Community Aged Mental Health Services and Ballarat Adult Mental Health Services
  • Enhanced Community Team (18-64 years)
  • Perinatal services including a Mother and Family unit (inpatient admission for family and baby)
  • Child & Adolescent services
  • Youth services
  • Lived Experience and Peer Support services
  • Family Violence and Child Information Sharing Schemes

This service is available to anyone living in the BHS Catchment Area.
